Wartime Chapters is an independent, free-to-read personal history project by Julian Mullins. These terms explain the basis on which its material is provided.

Purpose and accuracy

The site presents historical research, interpretation and clearly labelled conditional alternatives for general information. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the armed services, archives or museums mentioned unless explicitly stated. Research is ongoing, and uncertainties are identified in the articles and source notes.

I aim to check claims against the available evidence and explain uncertainty. Sources can conflict, transcriptions can contain errors and interpretations can change. The site is not a guarantee that a particular account is complete or correct. Please consult the cited documents for research that depends on precise wording or detail, and report a correction where needed.

Copyright and reuse

Original writing, selection and other material are protected by copyright where applicable. Rights held by Julian Mullins are reserved except where permission or a different licence is stated. Photographs, quotations, archival documents and contributions can have different owners and conditions.

You are welcome to link to pages. For reproduction, use the images and reuse guidance and the individual item's credit. These terms do not restrict material that is in the public domain, override an applicable open licence, or remove lawful exceptions to copyright. Availability on this site is not a blanket licence to republish everything on it.

Responsible use

Please do not interfere with the site's operation, attempt unauthorised access, or use its contact channels to send unlawful or abusive material. Do not present altered extracts or illustrations as authentic historical documents or imply that the project endorses your use without permission.

Contributions and correspondence

Sending a correction or enquiry does not transfer ownership of your material. If publication is proposed, permission, attribution and any conditions will be agreed where necessary. Please do not send material you have no right to share, or unnecessary personal information about living people. The privacy notice explains how correspondence is handled.

Links and availability

External links provide references and further reading. Their content and availability are controlled by their respective publishers; a link is not an endorsement of everything on that website. Pages on Wartime Chapters may be corrected, reorganised or withdrawn, and uninterrupted access cannot be promised.

Responsibility and your rights

Material is provided in good faith for general historical information. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, or affects rights you have under applicable law.
