What has been checked

Complete collection-page HTML downloaded and its historical narrative read on 20 October 2026, after browser fetch failed. The retained aircraft’s acceptance date and variant description checked separately from general type history.

How to read it

A modern museum account, not a wartime sortie report. The preserved SB2C-5 was accepted on 19 May 1945 and did not fight in the Yamato attack. Its individual specifications are not assigned to VB-82’s SB2C-4 and SB2C-4E aircraft. Their loads and sortie details are now checked separately against original report YT-Y20.
