How to read it

The translation and Japanese scan transmit the same report, not independent accounts. Cover numbering differs: English No.6-38, Japanese No.6-37. A retrospective command account; enemy estimates and editorial additions are not accepted as established facts. Sōryū evacuation: M14 PDF p.45 / stamped 0047 names Hamakaze and Isokaze (磯風); M06 renders the second as Isonami. The profile follows the original Japanese name.
